Travel behavior of children and caregivers using the Danish National Household Travel Survey

In collaboration with Prof. Anders Fjendbo Jensen at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), this project analyzed how children and their caregivers travel in Denmark, using the Danish National Household Travel Survey to identify patterns, needs, and constraints.
Destination Accessibility and Activity Spaces of Granada, Spain

Served as a Research Assistant for Prof. Carole Voulgaris on a project examining how residents access daily destinations in Granada, Spain. This study examined variations in accessibility and the size and structure of individuals’ activity spaces.

Served as a Research Assistant for Prof. Magda Maaoui on a project analyzing rental deserts in the U.S. and France, with a focus on factors contributing to housing inequality.
Children’s independent mobility and active travel to School

In collaboration with Prof. Gregory Macfarlane at Brigham Young University and Prof. Anders Fjendbo Jensen at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), this project studies the relationship between children’s independent mobility and the use of active modes of transportation to school.
Identifying walking trips using phone location-based data
OCT 2022 – APR 2023
Served as a Research Assistant for Prof. Carole Voulgaris on a project developing an equation to quantify the difference between trips made by walking and those made by other modes of transportation. Phone-recorded, location-based big data (LBD) were cleaned and used to train a machine learning model with travel survey data.
Quantifying the Impact of Income Inequality on Risk of COVID-19

While the income divide will likely rise due to job losses during recessions, those who suffers from low income might face a greater risk of COVID-19 infection. This study aims to examine the association between individual and local level factors related to income disparity and health issues.
The Effect of COVID-19 and Fine Dust on the Use of Urban Parks

This study aims to analyze how the COVID-19 pandemic and the increased air pollution influences changes in the use of urban parks and travel behavior by adopting the big data analysis and machine learning algorithms on the spatial-temporal patterns of visitors.
